QuickBill Privacy Policy

Effective date: August 6, 2026  ·  App package: com.seedtocode.quickbill

QuickBill ("QuickBill", "the App", "we", "us") is a point-of-sale and billing application for retail shops. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, how it is stored and shared, and the rights available to you under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 ("DPDP Act") and applicable global privacy laws.

By creating an account or using QuickBill, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

1. Who this policy applies to

QuickBill has three kinds of users, and the data collected differs by role:

2. Data we collect

CategoryWhat we collectWhy
Account & identity Phone number, name, selected role (owner / manager / cashier / customer) To authenticate you (via one-time SMS passcode) and determine what you can access
Business data Shop/branch name, address, phone number, UPI payment ID, receipt footer text To generate accurate invoices and receipts for a shop's customers
Inventory data Product names, barcodes, prices, stock quantities To power the billing and stock-tracking features an owner/staff use
Transaction data Sale line items, quantities, totals, timestamp, and which staff member recorded the sale To generate receipts, sales history, and digital invoices customers can retrieve by QR code
Diagnostics Crash reports and stack traces (Firebase Crashlytics) To detect and fix bugs that affect app stability
Usage analytics Screen views and in-app events (Firebase Analytics), device model, OS version, app version To understand which features are used and improve the App
Device/app integrity signal An attestation token generated on-device (Firebase App Check) To confirm requests reaching our backend come from a genuine, unmodified copy of the App

We do not collect payment card details, and we do not process payments inside the App — the UPI ID printed on a receipt is informational only, set by the shop owner.

3. How data is stored

QuickBill is built on Google Firebase. Your data is stored on Google Cloud infrastructure via Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore, and Cloud Functions, and is encrypted in transit and at rest using Google Cloud's standard infrastructure security. A local, on-device copy of your shop's product catalog is also cached on your phone so the App keeps working while offline; this cache is cleared if you sign out or uninstall the App.

4. How data is shared

We do not sell personal data, and we do not share data with advertisers or data brokers.

5. Data retention

Business, inventory, and transaction data is retained for as long as the associated account is active. If a shop owner requests deletion of their organization, associated business and transaction data is deleted within a reasonable period, except where we are required to retain records (e.g. financial/tax records) under applicable law.

6. Your rights (DPDP Act, 2023)

As a Data Principal under the DPDP Act, you have the right to:

To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in Section 9.

7. Children's privacy

QuickBill is intended for business use by shop owners and staff who are 18 years or older. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time, for example as we add new features. We will update the "Effective date" above when we do. Material changes will be highlighted in-app where practical.
